Your 5-point Interview Guide for AI Usage

We see AI as an incredible tool to support & transform the way we work. We want candidates to feel confident in how they approach interviews with us! Here are clear guidelines and examples of how AI fits into our hiring process.

1. Transparency
We’ll always be upfront with you if AI is part of our process. Our recruiters may use AI to help draft interview notes or organise candidate feedback. What AI will not do is make hiring decisions; those are always made by people.

2. Candidate Expectations
Using AI to prepare is fine. What matters most is that you can explain your own thinking and share examples from your experience, not read out a script. And yes, if you run research on Poka through AI, we’d almost expect it.

3. Data Privacy
Candidate data is handled carefully. Any tools we use are reviewed for security and compliance. We won't put your CV or interview notes into a public AI tool. Your information is treated with the same confidentiality as all other recruitment data.

4. Guidance for Interviewers
Our interviewers may use AI to prepare questions, take notes, or create a summary of the conversation. But they are trained to focus on your skills, mindset, and fit for Poka. Using an AI notetaker so we're fully engaged in the conversation, is the new normal (yay), but we always review the notes afterward before sharing internally.

5. What We Look For
We’re embracing AI across all teams and in the Poka product itself. We value curiosity, adaptability, and now more than ever, responsible experimentation with AI. For example, a great candidate might tell us about a time they used AI to speed up research, spark ideas, or automate a manual process, and reflect on what worked and what didn’t.

Our Interview Process

While the exact steps may vary by role, here’s what our typical hiring process looks like:

Step 1: Get to Know Each Other

A 30-minute screening call with Talent to learn about your goals and give you more insight into the role and team.

Step 2: Meet the Hiring Manager

A 45–60 minute video call to dive deeper into your experience. Some roles may include a short task or practical challenge.

Step 3: Meet a Senior Leader

You’ll speak with a VP, Director, or peer leader for perspective and alignment.

Step 4: (If applicable) Final Conversation

For certain roles, especially in Sales or Leadership, you may meet one of our Co-founders or join us for an in-person interview.
